Interesting article. It would be interesting to read more about how much human nature is plastic and can be domesticated.

On Ashley Frawley and reactionary socialist, I wonder how many of them were former Bernie supporters and now feel they can't achieve anything in the Democratic party so now they're signalling about right-wing cultural issues. I figure most of them will either fall out of politics or be subsumed by larger movements.

Thanks! I think the question of the plasticity of human nature is still open. Marx very clearly leans on the side of human nature being more plastic at least and I think if you’re going to call yourself a Marxist (as I think frawley does) you should at least explain why you reject that part of the theory instead of just assuming it’s false!

Also, I wonder how many of these people are coming up with serious arguments or just signalling.

For example, there were some progressives who would suggest that trans people are the most revolutionary class. Now reactionary socialist want to take the inverse position and suggest that capitalist want to trans everyone. In both cases the argument is silly and it seems like people are just coming up with highly educated nonsense to appeal to the lowest instincts of the culture war.
